Beavers host Dig Pink night, donating all sales to The Sideout Foundation

The Minot State volleyball team returns to the MSU Dome this weekend for a pair of NSIC match ups, hosting Minnesota State Moorhead on Friday, Oct. 10 at 6pm, and Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 2pm. Friday's match up against Moorhead will also serve as the team's annual Dig Pink Night, as the Beavers join programs across the country in raising awareness and funds for the Side-Out Foundation, which supports metastatic breast cancer research and patient support. 


Taking a look at the competition this weekend, the Beavers are first set to face Minnesota State Moorhead.  The Dragons are currently 9-6 overall, 3-4 in conference.  Statistically, the Dragons average 12.7 kills per set, 11.7 assists per set, as well as 13.6 digs per set.  
Raiah Mandell leads the team in kills, averaging 2.9 per set.  
Madi Colby leads the team in assists, with 5.69 per set.  
Defensively, Maci Martini leads the team in digs maintaining around 3.21 per set.  

The Beavers will then take on Minnesota State, Crookston in what is promised to be a very competitive match.  The Golden Eagles are sitting 6-9 overall, and 0-7 in conference.  Offensively, the Golden Eagles average 11.6 kills per set and 10.5 assists per set.  Defensively, the Golden Eagles maintain around 16.5 digs per set.  
Madison Carsten leads the team in kills with 3.92 per set. 
Ellery Ehresmann has the most assists, dictating the offense with 4.68 per set.  
Kailee Waasdorp leads the team defensively with 5.56 digs per set.  

The Beavers are currently 2-14 overall, 0-7 in conference.  
Katelyn Onespot-Danforth will play a key role in obtaining kills, as she is the current leader in kills for the Beavers.  Onespot-Danforth maintains 2.14 kills per set.
Jaina Macaulay will be the primary dictator for the offense, as she is currently the assist leader, obtaining 4.04 assists per set.  
Caton Pearcy will help defensively, as she averages 3.12 digs per set. 

The Side Out foundation's mission is to unite volleyball players, coaches, and fans to raise funds and awareness for metastatic breast cancer. At the matches, Minot State will encourage fans to wear pink, with all proceeds directed to Side-Out's research and patient support programs.
