MINOT, N.D.—The Minot State men's basketball team returns to the Minot State Dome this week for a two-game homestand, entering the stretch with momentum after earning a pair of strong wins last week.
The Beavers (5-4, 2-1 NSIC) will first host Minnesota State Moorhead on Thursday December 11, at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Saturday December 13, matchup against Minnesota Crookston at 3:30 p.m.
Last week, Minot State delivered two impressive performances. On Thursday, the Beavers shot 50 percent from three and secured an 85-78 home win, led by Deuce Benjamin's 28 points, Kiku Parker Jr. adding 13 off the bench, and a steady effort from Isaiah Alexander. Minot State protected the ball effectively with just four turnovers while recording 11 assists.
The Beavers carried that energy into Saturday's road contest against Northern State, earning a 91-79 victory behind double-doubles from Isaiah Alexander (19 points, 10 rebounds) and Carson Yale (16 points, 10 rebounds). Deuce Benjamin again paced the offense with 24 points and four assists as Minot State shot an efficient 67 percent from the field and narrowly won the rebounding battle, 36-34.
This week's homestand gives the Beavers an opportunity to continue building momentum in front of their home crowd. Minot State will look to maintain its strong offensive efficiency and defensive activity as it hosts two more NSIC matchups.
Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday December 11 versus MSU Moorhead, with Saturday's contest against Minnesota Crookston beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the MSU Dome.
