Beavers Set for Conference Showdowns in Weekend Homestand

MINOT, N.D.-- After a record-setting performance and a competitive road battle last week, the Minot State women's basketball team returns to the Dome for a two-game NSIC homestand. The Beavers will host Minnesota State University Moorhead on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Saturday matchup against Minnesota Crookston at 5:30 p.m.

The Beavers (4-6, 1-2 NSIC) are coming off a split week that showcased both their offensive strength and late-game resilience. On Thursday, Minot State claimed a 97-88 win over Jamestown, setting three NCAA Division II-era program records: single-game scoring (97 points), made three-pointers (18), and a career-high 29 points from sophomore guard Tiyahna Trottier. The Beavers shot 50 percent from deep and finished with five players in double figures, while recording 20 assists and forcing 15 turnovers.

On Saturday, Minot State battled tough on the road at Northern State, taking a 46-45 lead into the fourth quarter before falling 68-62. Sophomore guard Taryn Hamling led the effort with 21 points, including five made threes, while Lara Dobbins added 12 points and six rebounds. The Beavers forced 15 turnovers and continued their strong perimeter shooting with eight three-pointers.

Thursday's opponent, MSU Moorhead (4-3, 1-2 NSIC), is led by senior forward Terryn Johnson, who has totaled 89 points so far this season. Defensively, Johnson is also leading Moorhead with 49 rebounds.

On Saturday, the Beavers welcome Minnesota Crookston (1-7, 0-3 NSIC), who will enter the week looking to build momentum after dropping five contests. The Golden Eagles are paced by Senior guard Emma Miller, who leads Crookston with 144 points this season. Forward Rayna Klejeski leads the rebounding effort with 47 boards.

This week's homestand gives Minot State a key opportunity to climb the NSIC standings and build on the momentum generated by their recent offensive strides.

Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday against MSU Moorhead and 5:30 p.m. Saturday against Minnesota Crookston at the Dome.
