Minot State hosted No. 9 St. Cloud State on Saturday at 12 p.m. inside the Dome, with the Huskies earning a 45-0 victory. The dual featured several competitive moments for the Beavers across multiple weights, with each athlete contributing strong stretches throughout the afternoon.
The dual opened with the lightweights, beginning at 125 pounds, where
Cole Faircloth battled through long exchanges and showed improved mat awareness while staying active throughout all three periods. At 133 pounds,
George Selmeister worked through several extended scrambles, keeping pressure on his opponent and creating opportunities in neutral. The action continued at 141, where
Ethan Wonser stayed aggressive in one of the afternoon's quickest-paced matches, fighting well and pushing the tempo throughout.
Moving into the middleweights, the dual progressed to 149 pounds, where
Robert Salehi set an active tone early. Salehi pushed the pace, created multiple scoring attempts, and kept the match open from whistle to whistle. At 157 pounds,
Roman Leifridt showed continued growth in his freshman campaign, controlling ties, defending strong attacks, and maintaining composure in key scrambles. At 174,
Gavin Turk delivered one of the most competitive Beaver efforts of the day. Turk wrestled a tight, back-and-forth match, stayed within one score deep into the final period, and consistently created opportunities in neutral.
At 184 pounds,
Brogan Flannigan brought strong energy and opened with early offensive pressure, initiating several attacks to set the pace. Minot State followed with 197-pound wrestler
Shafer Ehmke, who kept his match high-tempo by firing off multiple take down attempts and staying aggressive throughout a bout filled with movement and scoring exchanges. In the 285-pound contest,
Carmine Morton showcased improved fighting and positioning, working to control engagements from the start.
The afternoon concluded with an extra match at 285 pounds, where Zachary Allen showed toughness and resilience, staying active throughout the contest and continuing to build on key technical areas.
Minot State now turns its attention to the upcoming NSIC schedule, using Saturday's competitive moments as valuable building blocks. The Beavers will be back in action on December 12th at 7p.m. in the MSU Dome.
