LAKE CITY, Minn. – The Minot State men's and women's golf teams are back on the road next week as they travel to Lake City, Minnesota, to compete in the Jewel Invitational at the Jewel Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday.
On the men's side, Minot State will look to build off last year's impressive showing at the Jewel Golf Club, where the team finished in fourth place while breaking two NCAA-era school records. The Beavers set a single-round team scoring record shooting 283 and a program-best 36-hole total of 578. Zach Hendrickson and Winston Grayson led the team's efforts last year, with Hendrickson finishing in 17th place at even par and Grayson placing 20th at 3-over par.
The Beavers enter this year's event coming off a solid performance at the MSU/CSP Fall Brawl, highlighted by freshman Kasen Rostad's career-best tournament finish. Rostad placed 16th overall, leading Minot State to an eighth-place team finish.
The women's team will aim to build on their performance from last year's tournament, where they finished eighth with a team score of 650. The Beavers are coming off a 14th-place finish at the MSU/CSP Fall Brawl, where Zoe Banack paced the team with a top-15 individual finish.
Both Minot State teams will look to make a strong push up the leaderboard as they compete at the Jewel Golf Club course over the two-day tournament. Both teams are set to start the tournament on Monday.
