HUDSON, Wis. – The Minot State men's and women's golf teams closed out play today at the MSU/CSP Fall Brawl at the Troy Burne Golf Club, capping a two day tournament that featured many conference competitors.
The Minot State men's team climbed the standings on Day 2, finishing in 8th place with a team total of +36.
Freshman
Kasen Rostad, a Minot North High School graduate, delivered the highlight of the tournament for the Beavers. Rostad shot +2 over the two rounds, earning 16th place and setting a new personal best collegiate tournament finish. His back-to-back rounds of 72 were collegiate-best scores for the true freshman.
Gunther Soltvedt followed with a steady performance, finishing 29th at +8.
Max Karnik placed 48th with a score of +12.
Zach Hendrickson was close behind in 54th at +14, while
Gage Olson finished 66th with +33.
Winona State University claimed the men's team title, shooting an impressive 13-under par to secure the victory. Winona State's Peyton Coahran took home the individual title, finishing at 4-under par.
On the women's side, Minot State placed 14th overall with a team score of +119.
Leading the way for the Beavers was
Zoe Banack, who turned in a strong performance with a 15
th place finish at +15. Banack shot a collegiate-best round of 5-over 76 on Tuesday as she turned in her second straight top 20 finish this fall.
Tori Worner followed in 61st place at +30.
Abigail Goettle tailed Worner in 67th with a score of +32.
Meadow Roberts placed 77th at +42, while
Macie Sebelius rounded out the team in 79th with +58.
Minnesota State University, Mankato captured the women's team title with a final score of +31, while Victoria Woytassek, also of MSU Mankato, earned the individual championship at +2.
The Beavers will now look towards their next tournament, the Jewel Invitational, which will be in Lake City, Minnesota. The tournament is set to start next Monday, September 22
nd at The Jewel Golf Club.
