MINOT, N.D. - The third-ranked Minot State men's hockey team opened the new season with a 5-1 win over Regina in exhibition action Saturday night at the Maysa Arena.
Slade Stanick and
Jay Buchholz each scored a pair of goals for Minot State and
Logan Cyca added an empty-net goal to cap the victory.
William Dyke finished with 39 saves in goal for the Beavers, who return to the ice next Friday and Saturday, hosting Briercrest College in two more exhibition contests, with puck-drop at 7:30 p.m. each night.
