Minot State men's wrestling dropped all four duals in a challenging slate against nationally competitive RMAC opponents, falling to Western Colorado, Adams State, Colorado Mesa, and Colorado State Pueblo. Despite the winless day, the Beavers delivered several strong individual performances and remained competitive throughout the event, highlighted by standout efforts in the upper weights and bonus-point victories across multiple duals.
Shafer Ehmke was the top performer for Minot State, finishing the day with three wins in four matches at 197 pounds. Ehmke recorded pins against Western Colorado and Colorado State Pueblo and added a technical fall versus Colorado Mesa, providing a consistent scoring spark for the Beavers throughout the quad.
Braxton Rance also picked up a key win at heavyweight with a high-scoring decision against Western Colorado, while
Gavin Turk earned a major decision at 174 pounds in the opening dual.
Additional bright spots came from the lighter weights, as
Kekoa Ogawa posted multiple wins with pins against Colorado Mesa and Colorado State Pueblo, and
Cole Faircloth opened the final dual with a quick pin to give Minot State early momentum.
Roman Leifridt also contributed a narrow decision victory against Colorado State Pueblo at 157 pounds.
While the results did not swing in Minot State's favor, the Beavers showed resilience against deep lineups and top-tier competition. With Ehmke's consistency and multiple wrestlers finding success across the day, Minot State will look to build on these performances as the season continues.
