BISMARCK, N.D. – The Minot State track and field teams head to Bismarck on Saturday for one final tune-up meet prior to the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships next weekend, hosted by Minnesota State, Mankato.
The goal for the Beavers will be to peak next week at the Championships, and the final step in preparation is a solid effort at the Marauders Tune-Up hosted by the University of Mary this weekend.
Action begins at noon with the field events, with running events starting at 1 p.m.
Last weekend,
Summer Krebsbach,
Peyton Tuhy, and
Justin Williams all set school records competing at the SDSU Indoor Classic. While new records might be a lot to expect this weekend, continued improvement across the board will be a perfect way for Minot State to prepare for the NSIC Championships.
While it will be a smaller meet, the focus will be on getting in a final bit of competitive fine-tuning at the Tune-Up.
And maybe make a push for the Top 10 in the NSIC season standings heading into the Championship, as well, as three Beavers find themselves in the Top 10 currently in Kresbach, who currently is 8th in the women's 200 meters with a time of 25.26 (adjusted from 24.87 seconds), Tuhy, who is 10
th in the men's 1,000 meters with a time of 2:32.23 (adjusted from 2:30.15), and
Bailey Wride, who is 8
th in the women's 1,000 with a time of 3:03.01, and 10
th in the mile with a time of 5:08.26.
Other Minot State runners, jumpers, and throwers lurking in the top 20 include Williams in the men's 200, who is 18
