MINOT, N.D. – The Midwest Collegiate Hockey league announced its end-of-season awards on Monday, and six Minot State men's hockey team members, along with head coach
Wyatt Waselenchuk, were honored by the league.
Minot State forwards
Jay Buchholz and
Colby Joseph, defenseman
Matthew Yakubowski, and goalie
William Dyke each were named to the MCH 1st Team for their efforts on the ice this season.
Beaver forward
Joey Moffatt was named to the MCH 2nd Team, and Minot State freshman goalie
Blake Sittler was named to the MCH All-Rookie Team.
Joseph also was named the MCH's MVP for the season, while Yakubowski was the MCH's Sportsmanship Award winner.
And the Beavers head coach, Waselenchuk, was named co-Coach of the Year, sharing the honor with Jamestown's Dean Stork.
The No. 1 Minot State men's hockey team is back on the ice in less than two weeks, playing its opening game at the ACHA National Tournament at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, in Maryland Heights, Missouri, against the winner of Thursday's Missouri State vs Purdue Northwest contest.
