BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The Minot State women's golf team wrapped up play at the NSIC Preview Tournament in 12
th place, with senior
Zoe Banack leading the way.
The Beavers carded a two-day total of 157-over 733 (367-366) at the Adams Pointe Golf Club, which will be the host site for the NSIC Women's Championship next month.
Banack finished tied for 42
nd individually, the top performance for the Minot State women, as she shot 20-over 164 for the 36-hole Preview, with rounds of 9-over 81 and 11-over 83.
Helping out the team score were Carlie Brown,
Macie Sebelius, and
Micaela Resler, who finished 70
th, 71
st, and 72
nd, respectively. Brown shot 44-over 188 (97-91) for the two-day event, while Sebelius carded a 45-over 189 (94-95), and Resler turned in a 48-over 192 (95-97).
Missouri Western took home top team honors from the event, shooting back-to-back team scores of 13-over 301s to finish at 26-over 602, 1 shot better than Washburn (Kan.).
Individually, Augustana's Lanie Veenendall took top honors with back-to-back even-par 72s for an even-par 144 and a five-stroke victory, helping the Vikings finish third as a team at 31-over 607.
The NSIC Preview was the second event of the spring for the Minot State women, who will be back in action in two weeks at the Texas Roadhouse Spring Invitational hosted by South Dakota Mines on April 13-14, the team's final tune-up prior to the NSIC Championship, April 22-24, back at the Adams Pointe Golf Club.
