Zoe Banack led the way Wednesday, shooting an 8-over 80 for the Minot State women's golf team, which is 13
th after the opening day of play at the NSIC Women's Golf Championship.
Banack is in a seven-way tie for 19
th after the opening 18 holes of action.
The Beavers carded a team score of 76-over 364 at the Adams Pointe Golf Club on Wednesday. Play continues Thursday with the second of three rounds.
While Banack led the way for Minot State, freshman
Carlie Brown was next as she shot a 20-over 92 and is 52
nd.
Teammates
Macie Sebelius, a freshman, and
Micaela Resler, a junior, find themselves tied for 57
th after matching 24-over 96s on Wednesday.
Minnesota Crookston shot an opening 19-over 307 and holds a one-shot lead over Minnesota State and Sioux Falls, which are tied for 2
nd at 20-over 308.
Minnesota Crookston's Anaka Lysne was the lone player to shoot under par for the opening 18 holes, carding a 2-under 70, as she leads the individual standings by 4 shots.
