BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The Minot State women's golf team shaved 6 shots off its first-round total, but the Beavers still find themselves 13th after the second round of the NSIC Women's Golf Championship.
Minot State shot a 70-over 358 at the Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri, on Thursday, and sits in 13th with a two-day total of 146-over 722 (364-358).
Leading the way for the second straight day for Minot State was senior
Zoe Banack, who fired a 10-over 82 and is tied for 25th at 18-over 162 (80-82).
Junior two-sport student-athlete
Micaela Resler, who also plays softball for the Beavers, was next for Minot State as she moved up to 51st with a 15-over 87 on Thursday and has a 36-hole score of 39-over 183 (96-87).
Freshmen
Carlie Brown and
Macie Sebelius rounded out the Minot State scores as Brown is tied for 58th at 44-over 188 (92-96), and Sebelius is 60th at 45-over 189 (96-93).
Minnesota Crookston's Anaka Lysne and Wayne State's Gaia Stancikova share the individual tournament lead at 4-over 148, three shots ahead of Minnesota State's Emerson Garlie.
Minnesota State moved into the tournament team lead at 40-over 616 (308-308), six shots better than 2nd-place Concordia-St. Paul.
The NSIC Women's Golf Championship concludes Friday with a final 18 holes of action at the Adams Pointe Golf Club.
