BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. –
Zoe Banack led the way for the Minot State women on Monday as the Beavers returned to competition on the golf course for the first time in three weeks.
Playing in the NSIC Women's Preview at the Adams Pointe Golf Club, Banack shot a 9-over 81 on Monday in the first round and is tied for 30
th.
The second tournament of the spring season for the Beavers, the Preview wraps up with 18 more holes of golf on Tuesday. The event gives Minot State a chance to compete alongside many of its conference rivals prior to the NSIC Championship next month, also at the Adams Pointe Golf Club.
While Banack led the way, the rest of the Minot State quartet were grouped together, as
Macie Sebelius shot a 22-over 94 and is 70
th,
Micaela Resler was 71
st after a 23-over 95, and Carlie Brown shot 25-over 97 and is 72
nd.
They teamed up for a first-round team score of 79-over 367, which has Minot State sitting in 12
th place.
Missouri Western leads the team race by one shot after an opening-round 13-over 301, while Augustana sits in second place at 14-over 302.
Individually, Augustana's Lanie Veenendall holds a 1-shot lead over Missouri Western's Saya Schweitzer, as Veenendall shot an even-par 72 and Schweitzer carded a 1-over 73.
