Minot State baseball opens postseason play Wednesday night as the seventh-seeded Beavers begin the NSIC tournament in Sioux Falls with a first-round match up against second-seeded Minnesota State at 6 p.m. in the double elimination bracket. Riding the momentum of 13 wins in their last 15 games, Minot State enters tournament week at 26-23 overall and looking to keep its late-season surge rolling against a Maverick squad that finished 37-12 and 29-7 in NSIC play.
The Beavers return to the NSIC tournament for the first time since 2023 and will look to build on a strong finish that pushed them into the postseason field. Wednesday's result will determine Minot State's path moving forward, with the Beavers returning Thursday at noon in an elimination game with a loss, or advancing to the winner's bracket for a 3:30 p.m. match up with a win.
Minot State also heads into tournament play with postseason recognition already in hand, as junior
Colton Bagshaw was named All-NSIC Second Team as a utility player after starring both on the mound and at the plate this spring. Bagshaw shared the team lead with five wins and 4.10 ERA in 12 appearances while also hitting .261 with six home runs and 16 RBIs, giving the Beavers one of their most versatile pieces entering the postseason.
