MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Minot State men's and women's cross-country teams return to action this Friday at 11:15 a.m., competing in the Roy Griak Invitational at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
After putting together a solid opening performance, the Beavers are ready to take another step forward as they test themselves against a competitive field at Roy Griak.
Senior
Holter Bridwell led the Minot State men in the season opener at the Dragon Twilight, finishing 37th in 19:01.9, while freshman
Carter Heggem followed in 45th at 19:17.8.
Jake Jenkins rounded out the Beavers' top three in 19:30.6.
"The men are starting to figure a few things out as a unit and can be ready for a nice breakout for some tomorrow," Minot State head coach
Erik Stevens said.
On the women's side,
Julie Folk led Minot State with a 24th-place finish in 20:42.4, followed by
Addyson Wendt in 40th at 21:26.2.
"Very excited to see the ladies team open up their season as a group," Stevens said. "They have been training well and have a great mindset moving into race day."
The Roy Griak Invitational gives the Beavers their next opportunity to build on their season-opening performances and continue progressing as the fall schedule moves forward.
"This will be a really good tell of what we are able to build over the back half of the season," Stevens said.
Minot State returns to action at 11:15 a.m. Friday at the Roy Griak Invitational.
