MSU baseball clinic adds Stohr

Pitcher Tyler Stohr is a former sixth round draft pick

MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State University baseball clinic has added a third quest speaker as head coach Brock Weppler has announced Tyler Stohr will be in attendance.
The clinic is set for Sunday at the Minot State University Dome, beginning at noon and running until 5 p.m. The clinic is open to all ages and also to coaches. More information can be obtained by logging on to (www.msubeavers.com) or by e-mailing Weppler at brock.weppler@minotstateu.edu.
Stohr, a right handed pitcher, is a sixth round selection in the 2008 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers.  He most recently pitched for the West Michigan Whitecaps in the Midwest League in 2009. He was a Midwest League All-Star as he accumulated 19 saves and 55 strikeouts in 61 innings.
Currently, Stohr is recovering from Tommy John surgery, which ended his 2010 season in May.
Stohr played collegiately for the United State Military Academy at West Point in 2006 before transferring to the University of North Florida in 2007. He was a Cape Cod League All-Star for the Hyannis Mets in 2007.
Stohr, along with Minot native and Major League Baseball umpire Gary Cederstrom, major league instructor and scout Jim Bretz and minor league coach Mario Garza, will instruct players and coaches on all aspects of the game.
