RECORDS: The Beavers are 5-10 overall and 0-2 in Dakota Athletic Conference play. BC comes into the weekend at 5-11 overall and 4-6 in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference action.
COACHES CORNER: Minot State's head coach is Peter Stewart, who is in his first season with MSU. Stewart's record is 5 wins and 10 losses overall with the Beavers. The Clippers' head coach is Gene Wolverton, who is 8-28 in two seasons with BC.

RECENT HISTORY: The Beavers went 1-2 at the 44th annual Wesmen Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Clippers haven't played since Nov. 27 where they lost to Lethbridge College (Alberta).
OVERALL SERIES: Minot State is 1-0 in the series with Briercrest, winning last year's game 128-87 at the MSU Dome.
NOTING THE CLIPPERS: Briercrest College plays in North Dakota three times during the week as they traveled to Dickinson State Monday, Minot State Tuesday and Williston State College Wednesday… The Clippers have not played a conference game since Nov. 27 and do not get back into conference play again until Jan. 16… Second-year head coach Gene Wolverton played both high school and college basketball at Briercrest…. BC dropped two games at Valley City State… Leading scorer Gradyn Childerhose has hit 57 percent of his shots and is scoring at a 21.63 ppg. average. Childerhose has topped 20 poins six times this season and dropped 34 points on Red Deer College.
CLASSIC REWIND: Minot State went 2-1 at the Wesmen Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba just before the New Year break. MSU fell to eventual champion University of Saskatchewan in the first round. It marked the second-straight season the Beavers lost to the eventual champion in the first round. MSU defeated Brandon University (Manitoba) in the second round and fell to McMaster University (Ontario) in round three. The Beavers were originally scheduled to take on fellow DAC foe Jamestown College in the consolation championship, but the games were switched to prevent two conference teams from playing outside the conference. It marked the first time MSU didn't go 2-1 in the tournament. The Beavers are 9-6 in five seasons at the Classic.
THAT'S CLASSIC JASON WEST: Minot State senior guard
Jason West had a solid tournament, averaging 18 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists and steals in three games. He narrowly missed a triple double against Brandon, scoring 12 points, pulling down 12 rebounds and adding seven assists and then blew up offensively with 31 points against McMaster. On the season, West ranks 18th in the NAIA Division II in total steals and 19th overall in steals per game.
PROTECT THE BALL: Minot State has done a good job of not coughing up the ball this season as the Beavers rank third in the conference in turnovers per game, giving away 14.93 per contest. MSU is a plus-2.79 in the turnover margin department, forcing 17.72 opponent miscues per game.
