MINOT, N.D. – Minot State University women's basketball will honor three past All-Americans over two days during this weekend's home basketball games.
MSU plans to enshrine Ari Hendrix-Roach, MacKenzie Mack and Kendra Meyer in their Wall of Fame at halftime of the men's basketball games Friday against South Dakota Mines and Saturday vs. Black Hills State. The Beavers will honor Hendrix-Roach and Mack Friday and honor Meyer Saturday night. All three will have their jersey and memorabilia displayed in a shadow box exhibit at the MSU Dome.
“All three of these ladies earned the highest honor you can as an individual and we are proud of their accomplishments,” said MSU head coach
Sheila Green Gerding. “They helped Minot State University women's basketball win a lot of games and be competitive at the national level. You can't win without great players and you can't be successful unless you surround yourself with great people. These three young ladies are tremendous people and continue to achieve greatest in everything they do.”
Hendrix-Roach played one season for the Beavers but made it a memorable one as she set a single-game record with 14 assists in an overtime win over No. 1 ranked Morningside College in the season opener. She helped the Beavers to its seventh appearance in the NAIA National Tournament in 2010. Hendrix-Roach also led the Dakota Athletic Conference in assists per game and was named to the DAC All Conference team in 2009-10. Her 15-point scoring average was sixth overall in the conference. Hendrix-Roach is currently a student assistant coach for Minot State women's basketball working on her degree in corporate fitness.
Mack was the ninth player in school history to score 1,000 career points and finished with 1,372 in her stellar four-year career. She sits in third place in school history in scoring. Mack finished fifth overall in rebounds in a career, pulling down 653. During her senior season in 2009-10, Mack helped the Beavers to their seventh NAIA National Tournament appearance and was a member of the Beavers 2007-08 National Tournament Quarterfinal team. She was third overall in the DAC in scoring with a 16.1 average and fourth overall in rounding with a 7.83 average. Mack is currently an RN at Trinity Hospital in Minot.
Meyer finished her four-year career as the Beavers all-time leading scorer, netting 1,710 points while in a Beavers' jersey and was a two-time NAIA All-American. She led the DAC in her senior season in 2007-08 in scoring, setting a Beavers' single-season record with 610 points. Meyer, a three-time All-DAC player, also finished her career MSU in second all-time with 168 3-pointers made and third all-time with 175 steals. She is currently a financial analyst for Ameriprise in Minneapolis.
