Box Score SIOUX FALLS, S.D.- The University of Sioux Falls men's basketball team shot 67 percent in the first half, building a 48-25 halftime advantage.
The Beavers couldn't battle back as USF shot 53 percent for the entire game, as they downed the MISU Friday night in the Stewart Center, 82-59.
"There are no easy games in this league," said Minot State head coach
Matt Murken. "Night in and night out you play a quality opponent. If you don't execute, you don't give yourself a chance to win. We didn't execute very well tonight and it cost us."
Robert Goffney led the Cougars (9-12 overall 5-12 NSIC) in scoring with 19 points on 8-10 shooting. James Rader also chipped in with 15 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
MISU could not get off to a good start, as they shot just 32 percent from the floor in the first half. Freshman
Dominique McDonald (Guard, Raleigh, N.C.) led Minot State in scoring with 13 points. He also snagged six rebounds and dished out two assists.
Josh Johnson (Sr., Forward, Lufkin, Texas) scored 12 points in the loss.
The Beavers (8-13 overall 7-10 NSIC) will look rebound Saturday night in Marshall, Minn. as they take on the Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in the R/A Facility.
