MSU's Jared Young becomes first Beaver to earn region honors

MINOT, N.D. – Minot State University freshman Jared Young (INF, Prince George, British Columbia) continues to make history for the Beavers baseball team.

Young, who was the first MSU player to earn All-NSIC honors since moving to the league, was named to the 2015 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II Central All-Region team, the league announced Friday. Young was one of 19 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference players chosen to the team and earned second team honors.

The ABCA/Rawlings All-Region teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America Committee. All-Region teams will be posted on May 15-16 as they are completed and announced at NCAA Tournament regional sites. ABCA/Rawlings All-Americans and Gold Glove winners will be announced on May 25, 2015.
