Box Score CALDWELL, IDAHO – The Minot State University baseball team played its first game of the season and first of a four-game series against the College of Idaho on Friday afternoon.
The Yotes pitching won the game 14-0 against the Beavers as they were able to go all nine innings without allowing a run and only allowing three hits in total while striking out 16 batters.
Lefty 
Tanner Alexander (Jr., Ontario, Ore.) made his debut for MSU striking out four of the 20 batters he faced, but allowed five earned runs over the course of four innings.
Jordan Schulz (OF, Jr., Strasbourg, Saskatchewan) led the Beavers with two hits while 
Caleb Fornshell (2B, So., Minot, N.D.) recorded one. They also earned another trip to first with Schulz being hit by a pitch and Fornshell being walked.
The Yotes offense kept things going after Alexander left the mound until 
Chandler Jacob (R-Fr., Minot, N.D.) came in to offer some relief. In his first appearance as a member of the MSU team, Jacob pitched three innings allowing two runs while striking out three batters.
Minot State will play a doubleheader against the College of Idaho tomorrow, February 6, with starting times of 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
