MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State University wrestling team couldn't get things going on Sunday afternoon against the University of Mary, ultimately losing its match up 25-10.
Head coach
Evan Forde was unimpressed with his team's performance as they dropped to 2-6, 0-3 NSIC on the season.
"I thought the University of Mary came ready to wrestle and we didn't," Forde said. "It was an uninspired effort. We're going to have to do some evaluating after this one. We didn't look like ourselves today."
There were bright spots for the Beavers however as
Cody Haugen,
Carlos Toledano and
Keegan Berry each won their individual weight classes, with Berry winning by major decision.
Haugen and Toledano each earned their 12th win of the season, tying
Jered Sublet for the team high in wins. Toledano, 12-5, currently sports the best record for MSU.
"We always know we're going to get a good effort from Carlos and Cody," Forde said. "I didn't think they wrestled their best match tonight, but they got their wins. We know we'll get solid efforts from them every time out."
Minot State will compete again next week on Thursday, January 12 at the University of Regina at 7 p.m.
