Minot State Welcomes Jamestown in Monday Night Matchup

MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State women's basketball team plays the third game of their seven-game homestand to start the season, as the Beavers play host to Jamestown on Monday, Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m.

Minot State opened the 2017-18 season with wins over Rocky Mountain (79-53) and Dickinson State (69-43).

Holly Johnson is averaging 12.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game to pace the Beavers.

Diondra Denton and Kristal Flowers also average double-digit scoring with 12.0 points per game.

Junior Madison Wald leads the Beavers with four steals and second on the team with six assists.

The Beavers return four starters and 11 letterwinners from last season's squad that went 4-25 overall.

Head coach Mark Graupe is in his first season leading the Minot State program.

Senior Holly Johnson was named the Preseason Player to Watch and enters her debut season at Minot State after stops at North Dakota State and North Dakota.

About Jamestown

Jamestown comes into Monday night's matchup with a 5-2 record on the season. Bryne Woodside and Paige Emmel pace the Jimmie scoring with 16.1 and 13.6 points per game, respectively.

Marina Nowak grabs a team-high 5.1 rebounds per game, followed by Jenna Doyle with 4.3 rebounds per game while Woodside leads the Jimmies in dishing out 5.3 assists per game.

Through seven games, the Jimmies are scoring 84.9 points per game on 40.6% shooting from the floor and 58.8% from the free throw line. The Jimmies average 45.4 rebounds per game, including 19.7 rebounds on the offensive end.

Minot State vs. Jamestown

Jamestown leads the all-time series with Minot State, 43-37. The Jimmies defeated the Beavers 94-88 in last season's meeting in Minot, N.D. on November 20, 2016.
