The Minot State department of athletics is taking one last look at the 2017-18 season by counting down the top 10 moments from this past season. Our countdown continues with our ninth moment on the list - the Minot State women's basketball team finishing the season as the 10th-most improved team in NCAA Division II
WHAT HAPPENED: Minot State finished the 2016-17 season with a record of 4-25, but first-year head coach
Mark Graupe orchestrated a significant turnaround for MSU as the Beavers finished the 2017-18 season with a 14-13 overall record
WHY IT'S ON THE LIST: Not only was the turnaround worthy of inclusion on the top 10 list, but the way the Beavers responded to early adversity made it even more significant. Minot State had a 4-6 record after suffering through a five-game losing streak early in the season, but the Beavers responded by winning 10 of their final 17 games including putting together a seven-game winning streak
WHAT ELSE WAS SPECIAL: The Beavers finished the regular season with an 11-11 conference record and hosted Winona State in the opening round of the NSIC Tournament. It marked just the second time the Beavers hosted a NSIC Tournament game and was the first for the school since the 2013-14 season
