ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Following his six-game stretch of torching opposing pitchers in the NSIC Baseball Tournament, Darrel was named All-Tournament MVP while
Jaymon Cervantes and
Wyatt Schlosser were also named to the All-Tournament team as selected by media members and announced by the conference office on Sunday.
Doll slugged seven home runs with 14 RBI and a blistering .500 batting average while hitting 13-for-26 at the plate in six games. The senior clubbed three homers vs. Winona State, tying a school record for the most in a game while smacking two vs. Wayne State and one vs. Northern State and St. Cloud State.
The Roseville, Calif. native notched a 1.308 slugging percentage and a .552 on-base percentage while also scoring a team-high 13 runs.
Schlosser was selected to the All-Tournament team for the second straight season after being Minot State's lone honoree last season. Schlosser went 10-for-20 at the plate with a double and a home run. The Saskastoon, Saskatchewan native recorded five RBI and scored five runs while drawing five runs and hit by the pitch twice.
Cervantes went 2-0 on the mound for the Beavers in two starts. The senior struck out 12 opposing hitters in 14 innings of work. Cervantes threw seven innings while allowing three runs on six hits and struck out seven batters in Minot State's NSIC Tournament opener in a 12-4 win over Wayne State.
On one day's rest, the Tuscon, Ariz. native put together an absolute gritty performance in Minot State's second elimination game on Saturday. Cervantes tossed seven innings while allowing four runs on nine hits and struck out five batters in the victory over 15
th-ranked St. Cloud State to advance to the NSIC Championship game.
