Box Score (ABERDEEN, S.D.) – The Minot State men's basketball team lost their sixth-consecutive NSIC contest tonight to the Northern State Wolves. The regular-season finale was controlled by Northern State early and the hosts rarely took their foot off the gas to win 67-53.
Minot State offered a valiant effort to comeback in the second half as the Beavers were outscored by just three points in the last twenty minutes. Northern State's margin was just too wide for Coach
Matt Murken's club to manage.
The Beavers had two double-digit scorers,
Kody Dwyer with 18 to lead the team, and
Kyle Beisch with a dozen. Senior forward
Trevor Rothstein led the Beavs on the boards with seven rebounds while guard
Max Cody showcased his distribution abilites with seven assists.
Northern State had three players with ten or more points including leading scorer Gabe King with 20, Mason Stark with 16, and Parker Fox with 11. Stark also had a team-high nine rebounds and was just one collection away from recording a double-double. Andrew Kallman led the Wolves in assists with five.
With the loss, Minot State finished the 2019-20 regular season at 10-18 overall and 4-18 in league play.
