VERMILLION, S.D. -- The Minot State University track and field team competed at the University of South Dakota Challenge over the weekend in Vermillion, South Dakota. 

The men's 4x100 came in with the highest finish of the weekend for the track team as the team of Nathan Trujillo-Aragon, Kundai Mutungi, Joseph Green, and Connor Bishop finished 8th with a time of 45.70. 

Leif Nelson had another solid effort in the men's javelin with a throw of 53.79 to finish fourth in the event. 

In the women's javelin, Danielle Stauffer finished 12th with a launch of 30.22. Ashley Miller placed 29th in the women's 200 with a time of 26.86. 

In the men's 200, Joseph Green placed 17th with a time of 22.64 and Vincente Guereca finished 48th with a time of 24.85. Green also finished 12th in the men's 400m with a time of 50.72, he was joined by Lewis Cotterill who finished 14th in the same event with a time of 51.46. 

Chloe Gunderson finished 38th in the women's discus with a throw of 33.12m. Emily Hansen finished 15th in the women's 400m with a time of 1:02.18 and Ashley Miller clocked a run of 1:03.44 in the 400m to finish 20th.

The Minot State track and field team will be back in action on Apr. 16-17 in the Loper Invitational at the University of Nebraska Kearney.
