2021 NSIC Baseball Tournament Bracket Announced, Beavers to host Golden Eagles May 13-14

BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The 2021 NSIC Baseball Tournament bracket is set as regular season play concluded on Sunday.  The top eight teams in the final regular-season standings will participate in the tournament, which will have a two-week format. The tournament will begin on May 13-14 with a best of three-game series hosted by the top four seeds (one 9-inning game Thursday and Friday with a second 9-inning game if necessary on Friday). 

The remaining four teams move forward to a four-team double-elimination tournament in Sioux Falls hosted by Augustana University May 19-21, 2021.

Minot State (24-15, 22-12 NSIC) earned the No. 4 seed and will host the No. 5 seeded Golden Eagles of Minnesota Crookston (23-10, 18-10 NSIC) for a best-of-three series at Corbett Field on May 13-14.

The Beavers went 10-4 over their last 14 games to jump up into a top-four spot which earned one of four host sites for the first round of the NSIC Baseball Tournament. 

It will be free to attend the NSIC Tournament games at Corbett Field. The game times are to be determined.

Minnesota State earned the number one seed after winning its tenth NSIC Regular Season Championship with a league record of 28-6. All games will be streamed live on the NSIC Network.

2021 NSIC Tournament Bracket

The winner of the NSIC Baseball Tournament will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Central Region Tournament. The NCAA Central Region is made up of 39 teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (15), the Mid-America Athletic Association (MIAA) (12), and the Great American Conference (GAC) (12). Automatic bids are awarded to the tournament champions from each conference with the final three spots awarded on an at-large basis. In all, six teams will advance to the NCAA Regional Tournament. 

The NCAA DII Baseball Selection Show will stream on NCAA.com on Sunday, May 23 at 9 p.m. central time.
