VERMILLION, S.D.- The Minot State men's and women's track and field teams traveled to the University of South Dakota to participate in the USD Early Bird Meet on Saturday April 2nd.
The Beavers were led by
Leif Nelson snagging 2nd place in the men's javelin by securing 59.62 meters in his throw.
The Beavers also had strong performances from
Trent Holiday in the 5000 meter run as he secured an 8th place finish with a time of 15:31.96 minutes. The men's 4x400 meter relay team consisting of
Lewis Cotterill,
Juan Gutierrez,
Kameron Toms, and
Jaylan Brown securing 10th with a time of 3:24.99 minutes.
Tori Nygard nabbed a 10th place finish in the women's javelin with a 35.29 meters.
Paulette Dominguez also brought home 11th place in the women's 5000 meter run with a 18:38.22 time
The Beavers also got a 12th place performance from Nelson in the men's discus with a 42.68 meter throw as well as a duece 14th place finishes from
Chloe Gunderson in women's discus and
Corbin Harris in men's shot put with 41.20 meters and 14.16 meters respectively. Rounding out top-15 finishes for the Beavers is the women's 4x100 meter relay consising of
Ashley Miller,
Kenzy Kellum,
Aryn Blanchard, and grace Loftus.
The Beavers will next head on the road to a familiar place as they drive down the road to Bismarck to the University of Mary to participate in the Al Bortke Meet Next Saturday April 9th.
