MINOT, N.D. – Last spring, the Beaver baseball team bashed a school record 89 home runs, eighth best in all of NCAA Division II baseball.

Minot State will find out if they can bash even more long balls this spring when they open the season in mid-February on the road as second-year head coach Sam Boisner and the Beavers are pleased to announce their 2024 schedule.

The Beavers open play with games against host Washburn University and Regis University (Colo.) in Kansas to start the season.

"I am excited for all the games this year," Coach Boisner said. "The team has worked very hard and is ready to compete, I am excited to see them compete every day and have a lot of success."

Action gets underway with single games Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Feb. 15-18, in Kansas as the Beavers open against Washburn on Thursday, play Regis on Friday, then Washburn on Saturday, and Regis again on Sunday.

After that four-game opening weekend, the Beavers jump right into NSIC action with a neutral-site series against Concordia, St. Paul, playing doubleheaders in Joplin, Missouri against the Golden Bears on Saturday, Feb. 24, and Sunday, Feb. 25.

Minot State follows up the early league action with a trip to Colorado to start the month of March, playing a doubleheader at Metro State on Friday, March 1, taking on the Colorado School of Mines in a single game on Saturday, March 2, a single game against Colorado Christian on Sunday, March 3, then closing the trip with a doubleheader against Colorado School of Mines on Tuesday, March 5.

"I am excited about the schedule, it will be a very challenging non-conference schedule," Boisner said. "MSU Denver (Metro State) and Washburn University are top 25 teams and will be a great challenge. Regis, Colorado Mines, and Colorado Christian are very competitive teams from the RMAC conference that will be great tests for us early."

After wrapping up a long weekend in Colorado, the Beavers head back to Kansas where they resume NSIC play, this time as the home team away from home in doubleheaders against Winona State in Manhatton, Kanas on Friday and Saturday, March 8 and 9.

The Beavers then start making their way closer to home for the bulk of the NSIC slate at league parks, starting with a pair of doubleheaders at Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and 24.

Then comes the home opener for the Beavers at Corbett Field as Wayne State rolls into town for a four-game, three-day series with a single game at noon on Thursday, March 28, a doubleheader at noon on Friday, March 29, and a final single game at noon on Saturday, March 30.

Minot State then plays a similar four-game, three-day series at Minnesota State, Mankato the next weekend on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 5-7, before returning home for a mid-week doubleheader as they host Minnesota Crookston on Wednesday, April 10, at 1:30 p.m. at Corbett Field.

The Beavers next head to Sioux Falls to take on the Cougars in a doubleheader on April 13 and a single game on April 14 before starting a five-game homestand with Mary in town for a doubleheader at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17.

Minnesota Duluth then visits Corbett Field at 1:30 p.m. for a doubleheader Saturday, April 20, and a single game at noon on Sunday, April 21.

After a mid-week doubleheader at Northern State on April 24, the Beavers are back at Corbett Field to close out their home slate hosting three games against St. Cloud State with a doubleheader starting at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, and a final single home game at noon on Sunday, April 28.

Minot State then closes the regular season with road games at Bemidji State, playing a mid-week doubleheader on April 30, then a three-game series at Augustana with a doubleheader on May 3 and a single game May 4 to wrap up the regular season.

The NSIC Tournament will be May 8-11 in Bismarck, North Dakota.

"The NSIC schedule is always tough and always a lot of fun," Boisner said. "We are excited for the season to start."
