Minot State’s Nasir Dilworth sets 2 of teams’ 5 records at SDSU Indoor Classic

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Minot State sprinter Nasir Dilworth enjoyed a day to remember on the track for the Beavers.

A day that will be easy to remember, too, as Dilworth wrote his name into Minot State's NCAA Division II era record book in two events, the men's 60-meter hurdles and 200 meters at the South Dakota State University Indoor Classic.

Dilworth started his day finishing ninth in the hurdles in the prelims as he just missed out on the finals, clocking a time of 8.22 seconds that broke the school record of teammate Nathan Trujillo-Aragon of 8.39 which Trujillo-Aragon clocked earlier this season.

With one record performance already under his belt, Dilworth added another as he shaved .02 seconds off the school record in the 200 meters, finishing 21st in the event in 22.58 seconds to break the previous fastest time of 22.60 run by Tyler Bates in 2015.

While Dilworth led the way, the rest of the Beavers also turned in some fantastic finishes on the day as Ramon Duran added another D-II era school record in the men's 400 meters as he finished fourth in the event in 48.76 seconds to break the old record of 49.43 run by Tyler Flatland in 2014.

On the women's side, Sidra Sadowsky added the fourth new Beaver record as she was ninth on the day in the women's 800 meters in 2 minutes, 14.11 seconds which broke the previous Minot State best time of 2:14.36 clocked by Whitney Hansen in 2021.

And rounding out the day was Peyton Tuhy who added one more record performance for the Minot State men as he finished 11th in the 1,000 meters at the SDSU Indoor Classic in 2:31.27 which bested the old record of 2:33.05 in the event run by Trent Holiday last season.

The record-setting day gives Minot State momentum as it races toward the NSIC Indoor Championships held Feb. 23-24. Prior to the Championships, though, the Beavers get one more weekend to fine-tune their performances at the UND Tune Up next Saturday.
