SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Beavers return to league action this weekend, this time with a little winning momentum under their belt.
Minot State wrapped up a 6-game extended weekend in Colorado winning 2 of its final 3 contests in the Mile High City, giving the Beavers (4-10 overall, 1-3 NSIC) some momentum as they prepare to be neutral-site hosts for a four-game series against Winona State (3-7 overall) at the Sanford Sports Complex in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Beavers are Warriors play a single game Friday, a doubleheader on Saturday, and a single game Sunday with first pitch each day scheduled for noon.
Both teams actually head into the weekend with winning momentum as Winona State picked up 11-7, 7-2, and 28-3 victories in its final three games in a six-game series in Florida.
Those three victories doubled the Warriors' runs per game from 3.4 to 7.0 runs per game, an offensive boast they will look to build upon against Minot State.
As for the Beavers, they too are averaging just a bit more than 7 runs a game at 7.2, in part to some big offensive outputs in a 17-15 win in 11 innings Sunday and a 15-6 victory to close out the Colorado road trip.
