LAKE CITY, Minn.- The Minot State men's golf team turned in a record-setting performance as they finished 4
th at The Watkins Invitational hosted by Winona State.
The Beavers finished the Watkins Invitational in 4
th and completed the tournament breaking 2 records.
The Minot State men set an NCAA-era single-round team record shooting a 283 today, one shot better than the previous record of 284 shot by the Beaver men on Sept. 17, 2018, at the King's Walk Invite.
The Beavers also set an NCAA-era 36-hole school record with a two-day total of 578 to break the old record of 583 shot at the Upper Iowa University Spring Invite on April 7-8, 2013.
Leading the Beavers was
Chase Gedak who finished tied for 12
th after shooting an 1-under-par (72-71),
Zach Hendrickson who finished 17
th shot even par (74-70), and
Winston Grayson who finished tied for 20
th shot 3-over par (77-70).
Jace Carslisle finished tied for 22
nd shooting 4-over par (72-76) and Darian Herlick finished tied for 26
th shooting 5-over par (77-72).
Joshua Tu competed as an individual and placed 67
th shooting 15-over par (79-80).
On the men's side, Concordia took the title of 1
st place after shooting a team total of 565 (280-285).
On the women's side, the Beavers finished in 8
th shooting a team total of 650 (323-327).
Leading the Beavers on the women's side was
Zoe Banack who tied for 28
th shooting 17-over par (81-78).
Holly Knudsen finished tied for 32
nd shooting 18-over par (81-79),
Lauryn Keller finished tied for 41
st shooting 23-over par (80-85),
Jaci Jones finished 45
th shooting 24-over par (81-85), and
Abigail Goettle finished in 58
th shooting 36-over par (90-88).
St. Kate's University finished the Watkins's Invitational in 1
st place with a team-total of 590 (297-293).

th and Tuesday, October 1
