LARCHWOOD, Iowa – The Minot State men's and women's golf teams completed the opening round of the USF Fall Invitational on Monday at Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort, wrapping up the first day of play in their final tournament of the fall season.
On the men's side, the Beavers are in eighth place after shooting a team total of 12-over par. Senior Zach Hendrickson led the way for Minot State, shooting a 1-under-par round to finish the day tied for ninth overall. Freshman Kasen Rostad is tied for 34th at 3-over par, while Gunther Soltvedt and Max Karnik each posted 5-over rounds to sit tied for 45th. Gage Olson rounded out the team scoring in 67th place at 13-over par.
Winona State leads the men's tournament after day one with a team score of 6-under par.
On the women's side, the Beavers are in 12th place after the first round, finishing with a team score of 72-over par. Zoe Banack paced the Beavers once again, sitting tied for 17th individually at 8-over par. Meadow Roberts followed at 17-over, which placed her tied for 52nd. Abigail Goettle is in 58th at 19-over par. Micaela Resler rounded out Minot State's scoring in 68th place at 28-over par.
Winona State also holds the lead in the women's standings, finishing the opening round at 19-over par.
The Beavers return to the course Tuesday for the final round of the USF Fall Invitational, looking to climb the leaderboard and close out their fall season on a high note.
