Minot State Wrestling set for weekend duals against Dickinson State

Minot State Wrestling prepares for a competitive weekend as both the men's and women's teams face Dickinson State in single duals.  The men host the Blue Hawks on Friday at 12 p.m., while the women travel to Dickinson for a Saturday dual at 3 p.m.

The Beaver men enter Friday's home dual with a lineup featuring several strong early season performers.  At 125 pounds, Minot State is expected to send out either Cole Faircloth (9-5) or Dylan McDonald (0-4), while the 133 pound spot will be filled by George Selmeister (0-3) or Kekoa Ogawa (2-1).  Ethan Wonser (3-4) leads the way at 141, followed by Robert Salehi (1-6) at 149 and Roman Leifridt (3-6) at 157.  At 165, the Beavers could go with either Will George (3-4) or John Armstrong (5-4), and the lineup continues with one of the team's top early season wrestlers, Gavin Turk (11-3), at 174.  Brogan Flannigan (3-5) will take the mat at 184, Shafer Ehmke (7-6) follows at 197, and Carmine Morton (7-7) anchors the dual at heavyweight.

The women's team head to Dickinson on Saturday with a full lineup ready to compete across the weight classes.  The Beavers will leave 103 pounds open, then look to Alexa Garcia (0-3) at 110 and Hi'ilani Malano-Dando (1-4) at 117.  One of the team's most successful wrestlers so far, Alyssa Jones (16-5), leads the middle weights at 124, followed by Skye Shelmerdine (7-10) at 131 and Puakela Beebe (10-8) at 138.  At 145, Minot State turns to Chloe Parsons (4-8), and Aliana Barnoski (8-5) provides experience and momentum at 160.  Upper weights continue to be a strength for the Beavers with Madylin Schuck (10-8) at 180 and Aniya Herbin (14-6) closing out the lineup at 207.

With both teams facing Dickinson State in single duals, the weekend presents a clear opportunity for Minot State to build momentum on both mats.
