Buckshot’s Best of 2025: No. 7 – Jace Carlisle shoots record round of 65 on way to NSIC All-Tournament honors

MINOT, N.D. – Next on the countdown, we head to the golf course where graduate student Jace Carlisle played himself into the record books in the latest top moment.

No. 7 on Buckshot's Best of 2025 is the 3-day performance by Jace Carlisle at the NSIC Men's Golf Championship as Carlisle shot a school-record 7-under 65 and finished 4th, earning NSIC All-Tournament Team honors.

A transfer from Post University (Conn.) where he earned his degree in Sports Management, Carlisle played just the 2024-25 season with the Beavers but was one of the team leaders as Minot State headed to the NSIC Men's Golf Championships in mid-April in Missouri.

During the season, he fired a low round of 68 at the Sioux Falls Invitational in October, where he also tied for 4th place, his best finish heading into the championships.

On the opening day at the Adams Pointe Golf Club, Carlisle started off slow, carding a 7-over 79 to sit tied for 26th, but one day later he'd write his name into the NSIC and Beaver record books.

Playing a bogey-free round, Carlisle broke the NSIC Tournament single-round record as he shot a 7-under 65 in Friday's second round, charging up the leaderboard into a tie for 4th heading into Saturday's final 18 holes.

The 65 was also a single-round Minot State school record low round for Carlisle.

Not letting up a bit, Carlisle finished with a 3-under 69 in Saturday's final round to take 4th place at 3-under 213, which tied him for the 54-hole school record with Karson O'Keefe.

Carlisle's play helped Minot State finish 7th as a team in the Championship, and his 4th-place finish made him the 6th Beaver men's golfer to earn NSIC All-Tournament Team honors with a top 5 finish at the NSIC Championships.
