TUCSON, Ariz. – After patiently waiting to hit the diamond, the Minot State baseball is set for league play just a week into the season.
The Beavers (3-2 overall), who flew to Arizona for two-plus weeks in the sunshine and 16 games, play a four-game, neutral-site series against Concordia, St. Paul (4-5) this Saturday and Sunday to open NSIC action.
The Golden Bears opened their season in mid-February and have played three games in Arizona this past week, including one against a foe Minot State has played as well, Mount Marty. While the Beavers split a pair of 1-run games with the Lancers, Concordia, St. Paul fell 9-7 to Mount Marty on Tuesday.
That's the lone similar measuring stick between the Beavers and Golden Bears this season as they prepare to play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 4:30 p.m. (Minot time) and another Sunday at 4 p.m. (Minot time).
Last season, in another neutral-site, 4-game series, the Golden Bears won 3-of-4 against Minot State.
