MINOT, N.D. - The No. 1-ranked Minot State men's hockey team remained atop the latest ACHA Division I poll released this week, while the 5
th-ranked Minot State women's hockey team held on to its No. 5 ranking in the first ACHA Division I women's poll of the new calendar year.
The Minot State men (17-1-1-1 overall, 9-1-1-1 MCH) picked up a pair of wins over the weekend over then No. 17-Midland to remain the No. 1 team in the nation. The Beavers moved to No. 1 in the ACHA poll for the first time this season last week.
The Beavers are on the road this weekend, playing at No. 6 Maryville on Friday and Saturday.
The top five in this week's men's poll remained the same as Ohio checked in at No. 2, UNLV was No. 3, Drury (Mo.) was No. 4, and Niagara (N.Y.) was No. 5.
In the women's poll, the Minot State women (11-6-5, 7-6-1 WMCH) maintained their No. 5 ranking as the Beavers won four in-a-row at home to start the calendar year.
Liberty remained No. 1 in the poll, and Midland held its spot at No. 2, while Michigan-Dearborn jumped three spots to No. 3 in the latest poll, and McKendree (Ill.) slipped one spot to No. 4.
The Beaver women head to Missouri this weekend for the WMCH Showcase where they will play unranked Lindenwood (Mo.) on Thursday and McKendree on Friday.
