Minot State Women's Wrestling faced a challenging slate of competition on the road, coming away with strong individual performances while dropping two of the three duals on the day. The Beavers squared off against Hastings College, Texas Women's University, and Trinidad State, gaining valuable experience against nationally ranked opponents.
The opening dual against Hastings featured several top-ranked NAIA wrestlers, including Larissa Kaz (No. 6), Reagen Gallaway (No. 3), Mandy Perez (No. 20), and Taylor Rickley (No. 16), creating a tough test for Minot State. Despite the overall result, the Beavers had key bright spots, most notably at 180 pounds where
Madilyn Schuck delivered a statement win by pinning No. 20 ranked Mandy Perex in 3:49.
Haleigh Lematta also continued her strong form, earning a technical fall victory to contribute to Minot's team score (9-39).
Minot State continued to battle throughout the remaining duals against Texas University and Trinidad State, showing depth and competitiveness across multiple weight classes. Lematta was a consistent force all day, finishing a perfect 3-0 in her matches, including one win by forfeit, and providing steady momentum for the Beavers. Schuck added another quick pin against Trinidad State, while several other wrestlers picked up bonus-point victories that kept team scored within reach (Texas 28- Minot 15) (Minot 28- Trinidad 21).
Although the Beavers finished the day with two dual losses, the trip showcased their ability to compete against ranked opponents and highlighted continued growth as the season progresses. With standout performances from Lematta and Schuck, Minot State leaves the weekend encouraged by both individual success and the experience gained against high level competition.
