GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Minot State's
Kasen Rostad fired his second straight 2-over 74 on Tuesday, leading the way for the Beaver men's golf team, which wrapped up play at the Maverick Desert Classic hosted by Minnesota State, Mankato, with an 11
th-place finish.
Rostad's second-straight 2-over 74 landed him in a tie for 25
th individually at 4-over 148 for the two-day event at the Palm Valley Golf Club.
Minot State finished 11
th with a team score of 40-over 616, shooting rounds of 303 and 313.
The first event of the spring season for the men, Minot State now gets two weeks off before returning to the course for the NSIC Conference Preview, held March 23-24 at the Paradise Pointe Golf Club in Smithville, Missouri.
Zach Hendrickson was next for the Beavers as he finished tied for 49
th at 10-over 154, shooting rounds of 74 and 80, then came
Max Karnik, who tied for 52
nd at 11-over 155, carding rounds of 79 and 76.
Gunther Soltvedt finished tied for 69
th for Minot State, shooting a two-day 15-over 159 (76-83), and
Gage Olson rounded out the team scores, tying for 75
th at 19-over 163 (79-84).
Minot State's
Cameron Schwab, playing as an individual, finished tied for 52
nd, as well, at 11-over 155 (76-79), while Joshua Lindbo was 83
rd at 28-over 172 (88-84), and
Fischer Johnson was 84
th at 29-over 173 (85-88), also playing as individuals.
Pittsburg State and Washburn tied for the team title with matching 4-over 580 totals, while Pittsburg State's Mason White, Ouaz's Olivier van Goor, Concordia-St. Paul's Carson Bee, Benedictine-Mesa's Erick Klutke, and Rockhurst's Bryce Renz and Kingston Solomon finished tied for the individual title at 2-under 142.
