LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – Minot State's
Zoe Banack shaved three shots from her first-round total, climbing the leaderboard to finish 23
rd at the SMSU Spring Invitational hosted by Southwest Minnesota State at the Wigman Course in Arizona.
Banack shot a 6-over 78 on Tuesday in the final round and moved up 7 places in the standings, finishing 23
rd at 15-over 159 for the two-day event that opened the spring season for the Beavers.
As a team, the Minot State ladies finished 12
th with a two-day total of 157-over 733.
Also shaving shots from day one to day two was teammate
Macie Sebelius, who was 6 shots better on Tuesday with an 18-over 90. She finished 65
th at 42-over 186 (96-90) for Minot State.
Micaela Resler was 67
th at 46-over 190 (93-97), and Carlie Brown was 69
th at 54-over 198 (99-99) for the Beavers.
Western New Mexico took top team honors with a 37-over 613, and was led by Falyn Lackey, who shared top individual honors with MSU-Denver's Izabella Pesicka, as both carded 4-over 148s for the two-day tournament.
The Minot State women's golf team now gets three weeks off before returning to action when they play at the NSIC Conference Preview, held March 30-31 at the Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri.
