The Minot State Beavers return to Corbett Field on Wednesday for a single non-conference game against the University of Mary, with first pitch set for 1:30 p.m. Minot State enters the match up with a 9-12 overall record after splitting Saturday's doubleheader against Minnesota Duluth. University of Mary comes in with a 10-10 overall record after sweeping Southwest Minnesota State this previous weekend.
The Beavers rallied from a 3-0 deficit in Saturday's finale, pulling even late before freshman
Jacob McLean delivered the game-winning two-run single in the bottom of the seventh. Junior
Jacob Thompson tossed a complete-game win in game two, allowing just three runs while striking out six.
Offensively, the Beavers got contributions from several key bats over the four-game set against Minnesota Duluth.
Boston Bast,
Vinnie Gates,
Wyatt Toth,
Jake Orthner,
Noah Madas, Michael Williamson, and
Oscar Pegg all came through with important hits this weekend. Minot State also showed aggressiveness on the bases, swiping five bags in Saturday's win.
After battling through a competitive series against the Bulldogs, the Beavers will look to carry that momentum back home as they host rival University of Mary in a midweek match up.
