BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – It's the ladies turn to test their skills against their conference rivals as the Minot State women's golf team heads to Missouri for the NSIC Preview Tournament at the Adams Pointe Golf Course.
Seven other NSIC rivals – Concordia-St. Paul, Minnesota Crookston, Sioux Falls, Minnesota State, Mankato, Winona State, Augustana, and Mary – will be in action alongside the Beavers, testing their game against each other and the course that will host the NSIC Women's Golf Championship next month.
So far this season, senior
Zoe Banack has led the way for Minot State with a season-average score of 81.8 shots per round through six tournaments, which includes a season-best score of 4-over 76 at the MSU/CSP Fall Brawl back in September. Banack also had a 3
rd-place finish at the Marauders 5
th Annual Tournament in September, as she was two shots off the lead at 15-over 159 for the two-day event.
While she has led the way, the rest of the Minot State women have battled hard to help keep the team scores low, with the Beavers currently fielding just four players, Banack, along with teammates
Micaela Resler,
Macie Sebelius, and Carlie Brown.
Resler, who also plays softball for Minot State, has a season average of 102.3 shots per round through 5 tournaments, while Sebelius is averaging 93.9 strokes per round and has played in four events, and Brown has a 99 shot per round average as she has played in just the Southwest Minnesota State Spring Invite earlier this month.
The SMSU Spring Invite was the spring opener for the Minot State women, who finished 12
th in that tournament in Arizona three weeks ago.
This week's NSIC Preview is the second event of the spring for the Beavers, who will get one final regular-season tune-up, at the Texas Roadhouse Spring Invitational hosted by South Dakota Mines, April 13-14, before playing in the NSIC Championships back in Missouri, April 22-24.
