LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – Senior Zoe Banack led the way for the Minot State ladies in their opening event of the spring schedule, shooting a 9-over 81 on Monday at the Wigwam Resort.

The Beaver senior finds herself in 30^th at the SMSU Spring Invitational hosted by Southwest Minnesota State as she heads into Tuesday's final round.

As for Minot State, the Beavers fired a team total of 81-over 369 and are 12^th after the first round of play.

Western New Mexico leads the team standings by three strokes after a 16-over 304, and is led by Falyn Lackey, who shot a 1-over 73.

Lackey is in a three-way tie for the individual tournament lead with Concordia-St. Paul's Addie Wood and Metropolitan State Denver's Izabelle Pesicka, who also shot opening 1-over 73s.

Adding to the Beavers' opening score were Michaela Resler, who shot 21-over 93 and is 63^rd, Macie Sebelius, who carded a 24-over 96 and is 66^th, and Carlie Brown, who shot 27-over 99 and is 69^th.
