Zoe Banack led the way for the Minot State ladies in their opening event of the spring schedule, shooting a 9-over 81 on Monday at the Wigwam Resort.
The Beaver senior finds herself in 30
th at the SMSU Spring Invitational hosted by Southwest Minnesota State as she heads into Tuesday's final round.
As for Minot State, the Beavers fired a team total of 81-over 369 and are 12
th after the first round of play.
Western New Mexico leads the team standings by three strokes after a 16-over 304, and is led by Falyn Lackey, who shot a 1-over 73.
Lackey is in a three-way tie for the individual tournament lead with Concordia-St. Paul's Addie Wood and Metropolitan State Denver's Izabelle Pesicka, who also shot opening 1-over 73s.
Adding to the Beavers' opening score were Michaela Resler, who shot 21-over 93 and is 63
rd,
Macie Sebelius, who carded a 24-over 96 and is 66
th, and Carlie Brown, who shot 27-over 99 and is 69
th.
