THIS WEEK: Minot State plays its final game against rival Dickinson State in Dakota Athletic Conference regular season play as MSU plays host to the Blue Hawks (7:30 p.m.).
RECORDS: The Beavers are 10-13 overall and 4-5 in Dakota Athletic Conference play. The Blue Hawks come into the week at 14-11 overall and 7-4 in DAC play.
COACHES CORNER: Minot State's head coach is Peter Stewart, who is in his first season with MSU. Stewart's record is 10 wins and 13 losses overall and with the Beavers. Ty Orton is in his fourth season with the Blue Hawks and sports an even 55-55 record with the university. Orton is 127-138 overall in his career.

RANKINGS: Neither team was ranked latest NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches Top 25 Poll, but Dickinson State did received one vote.
RECENT HISTORY: Minot State split two games on the road last weekend, taking a 96-85 win over Mayville State Friday and losing 65-50 to Dakota State Saturday. The Blue Hawks also split on the road with the same teams, falling Friday at Dakota 68-49 before rebounding with an 82-65 win at Mayville.
OVERALL SERIES: Minot State holds a 44-31 lead in the series dating back to 1976, but has lost two straight to the Blue Hawks.
NOTING THE BLUE HAWKS: Dickinson State leading scorer Nate Lebsock has amassed 525 points this season, scoring an average of 21 points per game, second in the conference. Lebock has hit for 20 or more points 16 times and has a high of 41 coming against the University of Great Falls Nov. 23, 2010. In that game, Lebsock hit 24 of 26 free throws… Matt Lee has knocked down 59.1 percent of his shots so far this season, good for No. 11 in NAIA Division II… Lee also comes in as the nation's 23th best rebounder with 203 boards… After jumping out to a 5-0 DAC record, DiSU is just 2-4 over its last six league games.
AND THEN THERE WERE TWO: Of the five major statistical categories – points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks – Minot State is led by just two players.
Jason West (Sr., G, Lompoc, Calif.) paces the team in points (12.08 ppg.), assists (4.24 apg.) and steals (2.88 spg.), while
Kelvin Fraser (Jr., F, Brooklyn, N.Y.) is MSU's leader in rebounds (6.22 rpg.) and blocks (2.70 bpg.). Both West and Fraser are ranked among the best nationally as West is second in the country in steals with 71 and Fraser is fourth in NAIA Division II in blocks with 62.
STRANG BUT TRUE: Minot State's second leading scorer senior
Kal Bay's (G, Chandler, Ariz.) status for Wednesday is still up in the air after suffering an injury kicking a weighted ball after practice. The ball, which looked like a basketball, was in the Beavers locker room. Bay went to kick the ball, which weighed 18 pounds, and injured his leg. He did not play last weekend. Bay is averaging 11.75 points per game and is ranked 36
th in the country in 3-point field goals made per game at 2.45.
NEW YEAR, NEW BOJAN: Minot State senior
Bojan Janjic (G, Kikinda, Serbia) has turned his game around since the New Year. Janjic has scored 112 of his 200 points in 2011, despite playing two fewer games than 2010. In 2010, Janjic was 0 for 3 on 3-pointers, but has hit 11 of 21 since. He scored in double figures just four times in 2010, but has hit for at least 10 five times in 2011. His rebounding has improved with the New Year as well as he has collected 14 more total rebounds this calendar year.
