THIS WEEK: Minot State is on the road for a pair of NSIC South Division battles, traveling to Concordia-St. Paul Friday (6 p.m.) and Minnesota State Saturday (4 p.m.).

RECORDS: The Beavers come into the weekend at 9-13 overall and are 4-12 in the Northern Sun. CSP is 11-10 overall and is 7-8 in the NSIC. Minnesota State carries a 14-6 record into the weekend and is 11-4 in conference play.

COACHES CORNER: Minot State is coached by Sheila Green Gerding. In her 20th season at the helm of the Beaver women's basketball program, Green Gerding has amassed an impressive 343-235 overall record. Green Gerding is the Beavers all-time wins leader and has all 342 wins with the Beavers. She has qualified Minot State for six NAIA National Tournaments over her career while also coaching 12 All-Americans both at the NAIA and NCAA Division II levels. The Golden Bears' head coach is Paul Fessler who is in his 15th season at CSP and 19th as a head coach. He is 317-138 at Concordia-St. Paul and 418-156 overall. Emilee Thiesse is in her second season at the helm in Mankato, sporting an excellent 40-12 overall record.

RANKINGS: Minnesota State fell out of the national poll but did receive votes in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division II Poll, the only one of the three teams to receive votes this week.

RECENT HISTORY: Minot State ran into two tough teams and dropped a pair of NSIC games last week, falling 81-71 against No. 23 ranked Wayne State College and 82-65 to Augustana College. Katie Hardy (Sr., F, Fairview, N.D.) put together a solid weekend, leading the Beavers with 17 points on Friday, while finishing with her first double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds Saturday. Savana Kingsbury (Jr., F, Omaha, Neb.) also notched her first career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds Saturday. Alex Haley (So., G, Libertyville, Ill.) hit for 17 point Saturday to pace the Beavers. The Golden Bears lost twice on the road last week, falling 63-51 at MSU Moorhead and 54-49 at nationally ranked Northern State. Anika Whiting led CSP both nights with 19 and 14 points respectively. The road trip was tough on MSU as well as they fell 85-80 at Northern State, but rebounded for a 73-62 win at MSUM. Aubrey Davis scored 20 points in the loss Friday, while Sammie Delzotto knocked down 21 Saturday. Anna Leloux had 13 total rebounds on the weekend for the Mavericks.

OVERALL SERIES: Minot State has not defeated either team in its short existence in the NSIC, including a 73-52 loss to Concordia-St. Paul in the second round of the NSIC playoffs last season. The Beavers are 0-3 against CSP and 0-2 in games against Minnesota State.

NOTING THE GOLDEN BEARS: Concordia-St. Paul has been streaky this season as the Golden Bears enter the weekend with two-game losing skid, following a three-game winning streak, which was preceded by a three-game losing streak… Anika Whiting has led the team in scoring eight times this year, including three straight games. She is averaging 16.0 points per game… Ameshia Kearney and Michayla Jones are both in double figures per game with Whiting, scoring 12.1 and 10.0 points per game respectively… Konda Nicks has been known for her shot blocking ability, and for good reason as she has 58 on the season. But Nicks also passed the ball very effectively as she has 47 assists compared to just 20 turnovers… CSP has been solid in the first half, outscoring opponents 696-629, but has given up 778 points after the break for a minus-20 point deficit in the second half.

NOTING THE MAVERICKS: Minnesota State is unbeaten in eight games at home this season and is 6-0 in NSIC play at the Taylor Center. MSU is just 5-6 on the road… Either Sammie Delzotto and Aubrey Davis have led the Mavericks in seven of the past nine games… The Mavericks have had trouble with turnovers this season, giving up the ball an average of 16.3 times per game… MSU has gone to overtime twice this season, earning a 5-point win and suffering a 5-point loss… Lexie Ulfers is averaging 12.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game for the Mavericks and has 41 blocks on the season… Ashley Olson has missed just four free throws this season, going 23 for 27, but isn't the team leader as Delzotto is an impressive 87.1 from the line.

I GOT 990 POINTS, BUT I AIN'T DONE: Katie Hardy's (Sr., F, Fairview, N.D.) 28 points last weekend puts her at 990 career points, just 10 shy of becoming the 13th player in school history to reach the mark. She would be the second this season as Christina Boag (Sr., F, Tamworth, Australia) reached 1,000 a couple games ago. Hardy is pushing towards 500 rebounds as well as she is 62 boards shy with at least seven games to play.

MASSIVE MINUTES: Senior Morgan Klose (G, Fairview, N.D.) has averaged just over 29 minutes per game over the past two years and now has 2,844 total minutes played in her four-year career. She is just 11 points shy of 800, has over 300 rebounds and hit the 250 assists plateau last weekend.

HEAVY AT THE TOP: The Beavers have received 49.3 of their 65.5 per-game average from their top 5 scorers, yet the Beavers don't have a player averaging more than 11.3 per game and have just two hitting for double figures each night. Christina Boag (Sr., F, Tamworth, Australia) and Alex Haley (So., G, Libertyville, Ill.) have averaged double figures with 11.3 and 10.9 points per game through 22 games.

GIVING TO OTHERS: Morgan Klose (Sr., G, Fairview, N.D.) paces Minot State with 66 on the season, upping her average to 3.0 per game with 21 assist over the past four games. She had eight helpers in the Beavers win over St. Cloud State two weeks ago.
