Westby named NDGA Senior Player of the Year

MINOT, N.D. – Minot State University head men's golf coach Randy Westby was crown the North Dakota Golf Association Senior Player of the Year for the second straight year.

Westby earned the title by finishing with 199.375 points, outdistancing Richard Tentis for the award. Westby played in four of the six overall events during the year, finishing in the top four in all four senior events.

He won the 2016 NDGA Senior Match Play title and finished third in the NDGA Senior Stroke Play. He also finished third in the NDGA Senior Four-Ball with a teammate and fourth in the NDGA Senior Scramble, also partnering in the event.

Westby is the former president of the NDGA until May of 2016 and is a member of the Board of Directors of the group that features 5,255 members and 4,486 men statewide.
