MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State baseball team opens Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play this weekend as the Beavers travel to La Crosse, Wis. to take on the Winona State Warriors.
The Beavers and Warriors will play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 17 at 1:30 p.m. and a doubleheader on Sunday, March 18 beginning at 12 p.m. with all four games being played at Copeland Park.
Minot State is hitting .225 as a team with 40 runs, 67 hits, 15 doubles, two triples and seven home runs on the season.
Dustin Wilcox leads Minot State at the plate while hitting .313, followed by
Zack Kunkel and
Ethan Fleming who are hitting .286.
Michael Borst is hitting .273 and leads the team with nine hits and seven RBIs.
Celestino Rodriguez,
Kyle Williamson and
Darrel Doll have recorded two home runs apiece on the season.
Wyatt Moore is 1-0 on the season in two appearances with 1.17 ERA while striking out six batters in 7.2 innings of work.
Andres Hackman earned his first win at Minot State after tossing a complete-game and striking out five batters and surrendering two runs on seven hits in a 3-2 victory at Concordia-St. Paul on March 5.

Justin Demary were named the Preseason Players to Watch for Minot State this season.
Scouting Winona State Warriors
Winona State enters the weekend with a 1-6 record on the season. Zac Stange leads the Warriors in hitting with a .385 batting average and second on the team with five RBIs. Sam Kohnle has notched a team-high seven RBIs while second on the team with a .370 batting average. Austin Savary is 1-0 on the season in two appearances with a 2.08 ERA.
As a team, the Warriors are hitting .233 with 27 runs, 52 hits, 10 doubles, a triple and two home runs while the pitching staff has a team ERA of 6.75 and has given up 49 runs on 86 and struck out 21 opposing batters.

th season at Winona State and holds a career record of 403-337-2.
