MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State baseball team takes on Nebraska-Kearney for a four-game series this weekend at Memorial Field in Kearney, Neb.
The two teams will begin the series on Friday at 2 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon. The Beavers and Lopers wrap up the series on Sunday at noon.
Minot State enters the weekend 2-4 on the season after splitting a doubleheader vs. Concordia-St. Paul on Monday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Michael Borst leads the team in batting average and this, hitting .333 on the season with seven hits and three RBIs.
Geordie McDougall is hitting .294 on the season while
Andrew Black and
Ethan Fleming are hitting .286 each.
Celestino Rodriguez and
Darrel Doll lead the team with five RBIs, followed by McDougall with four RBIs.
Rodriguez has a team-high two home runs while
Kyle Williamson and Doll have added one apiece.
Wyatt Moore is 1-0 on the season after pitching four scoreless innings in relief in a 7-4 win at Pittsburg State.
Andres Hackman is 1-1 on the season with a 4.09 ERA in 11 innings of work. Hackman earned the complete-game victory on Monday afternoon vs. Concordia-St. Paul after striking out five batters and yielding two earned runs on seven hits.
UNK enters the weekend with a 6-10 overall record and 3-3 mark in the MIAA. The Lopers are hitting .305 as a team with 129 runs, 184 hits, 52 doubles, one triple and 26 home runs.
Ty Roseberry leads the Lopers at the plate, hitting .448 with 17 RBIs while second on the team with four home runs. Peter Carlson is second on the team with seven doubles and 16 RBIs while hitting .281.
Mitchell Robinson is 2-2 on the season with five starts on the mound. Robinson has recorded a 5.40 ERA and struck out 18 hitters and walked 11 batters in 30 innings of work.
